Internet Marketing
Online Affiliate relationships are when you link to another web site
which tracks your referrals and gives you money or credit for the
traffic and sales you send them – or vice versa. The most basic step
is swapping hyperlinks – swapping links can be a good way to build
focused traffic for your site. Obviously you’ll want to choose to
request link swapping from web sites that offer complimentary
products or services to what your site features.
For instance, in
marketing Albion’s MO, we located a number of hiking enthusiast web
pages. That is, people who enjoyed hiking, camping and the outdoors,
but had no financial interest in the activity. They had links to
outfitters, parks and trails, etc. We asked them to link to
www.albionsmo.com
ecommerce enabled
web site, and some did. Focused traffic to the site was increased.
We suggest setting a goal of 5 link requests per month. We have a
worksheet that can be used to track link requests, send me an email
to get your free copy.
Amazon has opened
a new area for affiliates, visit

to see how they
get people to link to them, and then share the proceeds.
Newsletter Tips
I’ve been doing this KNW newsletter with basic tools, first using
Outlook’s distribution list, and then Notepad when Outlook started
having trouble with my list. I’ve been using Microsoft Word to write
the newsletter in. This method is fine for a basic newsletter, but
I find I’m yearning for more features including: personalization of
each email (allows personal greeting), automated list subscription
management (a hyperlink for subscribing and unsubscribing),
effectiveness reporting including tracking the number of times the
newsletter email is read and how many times a mentioned hyperlink is
clicked. I’m investigating several software programs that include
these features and will report to you what I find when testing is
complete.
Gathering email
addresses of qualified people (that is, those who are interested in
your product or service) needs to be ongoing. A basic step which
should be taken is to have an email newsletter signup sheet in your
office or store. I’ve created a simple signup form that you are
welcome to download and modify (replace our logo with ours) for use
in your location. See
www.knwsupport.com
As you start your
email newsletter address list, please include my email address so I
can see how you’re doing.
Regards,
-----
