The mobile and wireless internet will
be the next generation of the internet! Here are some Mobile
computing terms you'll need to know:
WAP
- Wireless Application Protocol - The de facto worldwide standard
for providing Internet communications and advanced telephony
services on digital mobile phones, pagers, personal digital
assistants and other wireless terminals.
WML
- Wireless Markup Language - an XML language used to specify content
and user interface for WAP devices. WML is supported by almost
every mobile phone browser around the world.
Bluetooth
- Bluetooth refers to a short-range radio technology aimed at
simplifying communications among Net devices and between devices and
the Internet. It also aims to simplify data synchronization between
Net devices and other computers.
PDA
- Personal Digital Assistant, a handheld device that combines
computing, telephone/fax, and networking features. Many PDAs can now
function as a cellular phone, fax sender, and personal organizer.
